Motocross Coaching Video - Riding Ruts
Ruts are one of the most technical obstacles you will come across while riding your dirtbike and a large majority of riders will avoid them at all costs. Generally a rut is the best line choice around a corner. The main reasons for this are you travel a much shorter distance then if you went to the berm and you normally have a good wall of dirt to turn the bike against through the turn.

ONE: Line the bike up correctly with the rut entry so that both wheels flow straight into the rut smoothly.

TWO: Going from your standing to seated position is crunch time. Make sure you do this in one motion with your weight forward and your foot up nice an high towards the front radiator shroud

THREE: Lean with the bike, turn your head and look through the turn and start to roll the throttle on.

FOUR: Once you have found a groove it's all about repetition. Find some good ruts and keep practicing!
